Fortepiano a coda con cassa lastronata in noce e gambe rastremate. Tastiera di sei ottave con tasti diatonici placcati in osso e cromatici in ebano. Lo strumento presenta le "turcherie" comandate da una pedaliera a sei pedali. Tavola frontale decorata da un dipinto a inchiostro su legno raffigurante paesaggio di ispirazione bucolica romantica, al centro è presente il cartiglio col nome del costruttore e la firma del pittore Adelstein. Vienna, primo quarto del secolo XIX (cm 120x88x225) (difetti e mancanze)

Lo strumento non è datato ma risale sicuramente tra il 1815 ed il 1820.
Anton Walter in quegli anni si era appena associato al figliastro Joseph Schöffstoss modificando la denominazione della bottega da Anton Walter ad Anton Walter & Sohn. Ne è riprova l’estensione della tastiera da Fa a Fa4, il tipo di incordatura ed il numero di pedali.

Una caratteristica di questo strumento è il listello frontale convesso nello stile del costruttore Johan Jacob Könnicke e altri contemporanei, interamente dipinto, che integra la firma del costruttore all’interno del soggetto pittorico, al contrario della consueta targhetta incorniciata al centro.

Grand fortepiano with a walnut veneered case and tapered legs. A six-octave keyboard with bone-plated diatonic keys and ebony chromatic keys. The instrument features "turcherie" keys controlled by a six-pedal pedalboard. The front panel is decorated with an ink painting on wood depicting a romantic bucolic landscape. In the center is a cartouche with the maker's name and the signature of the painter Adelstein. Vienna, first quarter of the 19th century (120 x 88 x 225 cm) (defects and missing parts)

The instrument is undated but certainly dates to between 1815 and 1820.
At the time, Anton Walter had recently partnered with his stepson Joseph Schöffstoss, changing the name of the workshop from Anton Walter to Anton Walter & Sohn. This is evidenced by the keyboard range from F to F4, the type of stringing, and the number of pedals.

A characteristic feature of this instrument is the convex front strip in the style of the maker Johan Jacob Könnicke and other contemporaries, entirely painted, which integrates the maker's signature within the pictorial subject, unlike the usual framed plate in the center.
