16. How do I place an absentee bid?
The first step is to register for free on ArsValue. The second step is to complete your profile by logging in and clicking the Profile Data section in the Settings menu.

Once you've completed the two previous steps, you're ready to request authorization from the auction house. Log in, go to the auction catalogs, and click the Register for the Auction button. After consenting to the Sales Conditions and Privacy Policy, click the Register for the Auction button again. This way, you have requested permission from the auction house to participate in auctions through ArsValue. Once the auction house grants you permission, you will receive a confirmation email. Note that it is strongly recommended to upload the required documents in the appropriate section of your profile to be authorized.

After receiving authorization, you can participate in all auctions by the auction house available on ArsValue.

This process must be repeated each time you want to participate in an auction from an auction house for which you haven't received authorization.

Once authorized, you can participate in all auctions by the auction house. However, you'll always need to register for each auction, consenting to the Sales Conditions and Privacy Policy. In this case, you won't have to wait for the auction house's authorization. After accepting the Sales Conditions and Privacy Policy, you can immediately place pre-auction bids by clicking the Register for the Auction button.

After registering for the auction and receiving authorization from the auction house, you can place bids by selecting the amount in the corresponding drop-down menu within the lot's details and clicking the Submit Bid button.

You can place single bids or automatic bids, in which case the system will automatically defend your offer. You can monitor the status of your bids in the Bid History of your account.

Pre-auction bids can be placed up to half an hour before the start of the auction.

17. Can I cancel a bid?
No, as stated in the message displayed before confirming a bid, bids cannot be canceled. Remember that, during registration, you accepted the auction house's Sales Conditions through a flag.

18. How can I participate in live online auctions?
To participate in live online auctions, you must be authorized. For an explanation, refer to point 16.

19. How do I place a bid in a live online auction?
Half an hour before the start of the auction, a yellow button labeled Watch Live appears next to the catalog. By clicking it, you access the Bidder (the screen where you can follow the auction and place bids).

The auction can be followed as an anonymous user, but to participate, you must log in (you can do this before or after opening the Bidder).

To place a bid, click the green button displaying the amount to be offered at the time of the click. The bid will be immediately placed after clicking. The green button is set to display the next available bid to become the highest bidder.

20. How do I know if I have won a lot?
When you win a lot, the message "You have won the lot" appears, and an email is sent with the summary of the award.

21. Do I need to be registered to follow auctions?
No, you can follow auctions as an anonymous user, but in this mode, you cannot place bids.

22. How do auctions with virtual auctioneer work?
Auctions with virtual auctioneer have the same functionalities as classic online auctions. This means that users can place bids in pre-auction and during the auction with a virtual auctioneer, following the same steps and procedures as in classic online auctions (see point 18).

The only difference to keep in mind is that the system is entirely automatic. As for pre-auction bids, nothing changes: they can be placed on the website up to half an hour before the auction and will be taken into account during the auction. The same procedure applies to live online bids.

For your information, we explain how the automation for auctions with a virtual auctioneer works.

Each lot is auctioned for 30 seconds, during which registered users can place bids on the lot. If bids are made within the first 15 seconds, the time continues to run normally. Every time a bid is made within the last 15 seconds before the scheduled end time, the duration is extended by an additional 15 seconds. This process can occur multiple times, as the mechanism replicates for each bid made within the last 15 seconds. The closing warning is activated 5 seconds before the lot's closing time.

23. How can I contact an auction house?
To contact an auction house, you must be registered and logged in.
Select the auction house you wish to contact in the Auction Houses menu, open the dedicated page, and click here to send a message to the auction house.
In the details of each lot in the catalog, you can click Send a message to contact the auction house regarding that lot.

In your account's Messages menu (visible after logging in), you can view the messages from auction houses. You receive a notification email whenever an auction house sends a message. The content of the message is only visible within your account.
