Il Northern Lawn Tennis Tournament fu uno dei più prestigiosi tornei britannici dell'epoca precedente all'era Open. Nato nel 1879 per iniziativa della Northern Lawn Tennis Association, era considerato il principale appuntamento tennistico del nord dell'Inghilterra e attirava regolarmente alcuni dei migliori giocatori britannici e internazionali. Le edizioni si disputarono alternativamente a Manchester e Liverpool.

The Northern Lawn Tennis Tournament was one of the most prestigious British tournaments of the pre-Open era. Founded in 1879 on the initiative of the Northern Lawn Tennis Association, it was considered the leading tennis event in northern England and regularly attracted some of the finest British and international players. The editions were held alternately in Manchester and Liverpool. -
