  • Van Eijk Kiki
    Lotto 73

Van Eijk Kiki, Kiki van Eijk designed Floating Frames as a collection of handmade objects in anodized aluminium wire. Each piece is meticulously handmade in her workshop; no two items are alike. Showing only the skeleton of the object yet representing a function in full state, these metal wire pieces seem to float in space. Kiki takes a single line and transforms it into a whimsical sculptural piece. By inter- weaving a ceramic part she highlights its function. -- 3 + 2 AP Shipped from Netherlands Item liable to VAT 2010

  • Van Eijk Kiki
    Lotto 74

Van Eijk Kiki, “An imaginary world in which everything is mixed, combined and questioned: Small & big scale...Farm and bourgeois...Simple & luxurious materials...Basic & complicated... Sketch & final result... Inspirations & pro- cesses...Different techniques & personal fascinations... Old & new projects...Reflections & impulses... Like an enormous patchwork of ideas, col- lection of thoughts & curiosities.” Cut and paste is a stunning collection of renowned museum pieces designed in 2010. The reference is an imaginary world in which everything is mixed. Combined and ques- tioned: small scale with big. Simple with luxurious materials. Farm with bourgeois or Primitive. By first making hundreds of sketches and no use of a computer. 7 final pieces are made with various references such as high clock. Bird cage. Wheel or cart. Using various materials as wood. Steel. Ceramic. Glass and textile. Each one becomes an art piece with its own imaginary and personal poetical world. These pieces show that often the line between art and design is almost invisible. -- Limited Edition Shipped from Netherlands Euro 8.000 - 12.000 Item liable to VAT 2010

  • Massari Lucia
    Lotto 75

Massari Lucia, Teste composte are a series of mirrors inspired by Arcimboldo’s paintings, com- posed of swirls, rosettes, flowers and leaves – some of the most typical elements of craftwork of Venetian mirrors – in the place of beards, eyes, noses and hair. The mirrors, so over-decorated, recall the excesses of the baroque era, downplay- ing instead any seriousness typical of the Baroque trend with irony and lightness. They are made in collaboration with one of the last mirror company based in Murano: Barbini Specchi Veneziani. -- Unique Shipped from Italy Item liable to VAT 2019

  • Massari Lucia
    Lotto 78

Massari Lucia, Softwood is a collection of upholstered stools using moirè fabric. Made in collaboration with Tappezzerie Druetta for Swing Design Gallery. This stool is the result of research that revolves around the idea of imitation. The process starts with the use of moirè fabric, which is distinguished by a design that reproduces the typical effect of wood grain. Veins are repeated in the pattern of colored shapes that char- acterize the stool, and the divided sections of different moirè evoke the decorative process of wood inlay. Hence the idea of a seat padded with soft wood. The stool has been crafted by master upholsterer Gabriele Druetta. -- Edition of 12 Shipped from Italy Item liable to VAT 2021
