In folio (mm 296x202). Pag. (108), 426, (2). Numerosi fregi, capilettera e finalini xilografici; testo su doppia colonna inquadrato entro singolo filetto. Legatura in piena pergamena rigida con tassallo con titoli e fregi in oro al dorso. Sporadici fori di tarlo ma esemplare fresco e marginoso, ben conservato. Giulio Ferretti (1487-1547), giureconsulto ravennate ma di origini pugliesi, va annoverato fra le fonti di assoluto culto nel panorama concernente il diritto di guerra (fu riferimento costante anche nello stesso Grozio), tanto da diventare consulente dell'imperatore Carlo V. Scrisse anche consilia e trattati sempre dedicati al tema dello ius belli. In questo monumentale trattato, dato alle stampe postumo dal figlio Eusperanzio, l'Autore indaga il tema della guerra anche dal punto di vista delle strategie militari, approfondendo gli aspetti teologici, politici e chiaramente giuridici. Full rigid parchment binding Sporadic worm holes but fresh and marginal specimen, well preserved. Giulio Ferretti (1487-1547), lawyer from Ravenna but of Apulian origins, should be counted among the sources of absolute worship in the panorama concerning the right of war (he was also a constant reference in Grozio himself), so much so as to become a consultant to Emperor Charles V. He also wrote consilia and treatises always dedicated to the theme of ius belli. In this monumental treatise, published posthumously by his son Eusperanzio, the author investigates the theme of war also from the point of view of military strategies, deepening the theological, political and clearly legal aspects.
