India, periodo Kushan, II - III secolo AD. . Cm 25,50. Bella testa raffigurante forse un Apsara (ninfa) o Yakshi (spirito della natura). Caratteristica della produzione di Mathura è la pietra rosa maculata ed un'iconografia innovativa per il periodo contraddistinta da una fisicità rotonda e carnosa.

India, Kushan period, 2nd - 3rd century AD. . Cm 25,50. A beautiful head portraying maybe ad Apsara (a nymph) or a Yakshi (a spirit of the nature). Typical of the Mathura school is the pink speckled stone. The iconography is also very original for the time, characterized by chubby and meaty figures.
