Lo stile di questo piccolo busto ricorda immediatamente gli scultori lombardi attivi tra Quattro e Cinquecento. La barba scolpita "a serpentelli", gli occhi un po' sporgenti forati dalla pupilla e le teste cinte da una sorta di turbante, sono elementi caratterizzanti la scultura lombarda del periodo. Questi artisti, attivi a inizio Cinquecento, sono tutt'oggi anonimi e operavano quali collaboratori di Gasparo Coirano, Antonio Medaglia e altri scultori lombardi (e non solo milanesi) educatisi sugli esempi di Martino Benzoni. Esempi scultorei di questo ambito si possono trovare nel portale del duomo di Salò, dove lavora il Coirano a fianco di Antonio Tamagnino, oppure in Santa Maria dei Miracoli e in San Pietro in Oliveto a Brescia. Ad oggi, è impossibile formulare un'attribuzione, tanto più visto l'animato dibattito accademico attorno ai cantieri menzionati.

The style of this small bust is immediately reminiscent of Lombard sculptors active between the 15th and 16th centuries. The beard sculpted in a "serpentine" style, the slightly protruding eyes with pupils and the heads encircled by a sort of turban are characteristic elements of Lombard sculpture of the period. These artists, active in the early 16th century, remain anonymous today and worked as collaborators of Gasparo Coirano, Antonio Medaglia and other Lombard sculptors (not only from Milan) who were trained on the examples of Martino Benzoni. Examples of sculpture in this style can be found in the portal of Salò Cathedral, where Coirano worked alongside Antonio Tamagnino, or in Santa Maria dei Miracoli and San Pietro in Oliveto in Brescia. To date, it is impossible to attribute the works, especially given the lively academic debate surrounding the aforementioned construction sites.
