FRASCA' NATO (n. 1931) Rebis (coppia). 1977. Scultura in ferro. Cm 142,00 x 71,00 x 65,00. Pezzo unico. Opera archiviata presso l'Archivio Nato Frascà come da documentazione allegata all'opera. Nato Frascà, tra il 1967 e il 1971, scopre e sperimenta la forma “Rebis”, che costituisce una delle serie delle sue opere maggiormente conosciute, storicizzate e apprezzate dalla critica. Dal Rebis “matrice”, anche successivamente al 1971, vengono ideate e realizzate una serie di opere in cui la forma originaria viene combinata a 2, 3, 5, fino a 10 elementi. Attraverso alcune di queste combinazioni vengono realizzate, oltre a sculture per esposizioni, una serie di oggetti di design e di arredamento, anche frutto della collaborazione con studi di design e di architettura. In particolare, una serie di artisti, tra cui Frascà, collaborano con il “Gruppo Ripetta”, la cui sede era in Piazza Farnese a Roma, presentando i loro prototipi ed il relativo catalogo di oggetti da produrre su richiesta in una mostra nel 1977. Il “Rebis tavolo” appartiene a questa tipologia, che è presente anche nell’elenco delle serie di opere citate nell'l’Archivio. Questo pezzo realizzato per Mario Di Donato fa parte di questa serie; i due “Rebis” utilizzati, costituiscono le basi per tavoli che potevano essere prodotti in legno, cristallo ed altri materiali. Le caratteristiche strutturali del “Rebis”, cioè di essere una forma derivata dall’unione di quattro delle sei diagonali interne al cubo, permettono di sopportare agevolmente i pesi di qualsiasi materiale scelto. I “Rebis” hanno precise e particolari tipologie costruttive, e la loro realizzazione fu resa possibile solo dalla collaborazione stretta tra gli artigiani cui l’artista si rivolgeva e l’artista stesso. La coppia di opere era in origine di colore nero ed è stata riportata al ferro originale così come indicato dall'archivio Frascà.

Nato Frascà, between 1967 and 1971 discovered and experienced the form "Rebis", which is one of series of his best known works, logged and appreciated by critics. Since Rebis "matrix", also subsequently to 1971, are designed and produced a series of works in which the original form is combined with 2, 3, 5, up to 10 elements. Through some of these combinations are made, as well as sculptures for exhibitions, a series of design objects and furniture, also the result of collaboration with design and architecture firms. In particular, a number of artists, including Frascà, collaborate with the "Ripetta Group", whose headquarters was in Piazza Farnese in Rome, presenting their prototypes and the catalog of objects to be produced on request at an exhibition in 1977. The "Rebis table" belongs to this type, which is also present in the list of series of works cited in the Archives. This piece made for Mario Di Donato is part of this series; the two "Rebis" used, are the basis for tables that could be produced in wood, glass and other materials. The structural characteristics of the "Rebis", is a form derived from the union of four of the six internal to the cube diagonal, allow to easily support the weight of any material chosen. The "Rebis" have precise and particular building types, and their realization was made possible only by the close cooperation between the craftsmen which the artist chose, and the artist himself. The pair of works was of black origin and has been restored to the original iron as well as the Frascà Archives indicated.
