Maximianus Herculius (286-310), Argenteus, Siscia, ca. AD 294; AR (g 3,00; mm 19; h 6); MAXIMIA - NVS AVG, laureate head r., Rv. VIRTVS - MILITVM, eight-turreted camp gate in front of which the four tetrarchs swear over tripod. RIC 32b; C 622.
Wonderful lustrous tone, virtually as struck and almost fdc.

Constantine I (306-337), Medallion, Rome, ca. AD 327-333; AE (g 29,62; mm 39; h 6); CONSTANTI - NVS MAX AVG, diademed, draped and cuirassed bust r., Rv. SECVRITAS - AVGVSTI N, Securitas standing l., head r., holding sceptre and resting elbow on column; two captives seated l. and r., back to back, in attitude of mourning. C 170/493; Gnecchi II, n. 9, pl. 130,7.
Very rare. A spectacular medallion and work of a very skilled master-engraver. A portrait in the finest style of the period and with an interesting reverse composition. Perfectly struck and centred on a very large flan, lovely green patina with traces of silvering, extremely fine - good extremely fine.

Crispus Caesar (317-326), Solidus struck under Constantine I, Sirmium, AD 325-326; AV (g 4,32; mm 19; h 8); Diademed head r., with uplifted gaze, Rv. CRISPVS - CAESAR, Victory advancing l., holding wreath and palm; in ex, SIRM. RIC 63.
Rare and about extremely fine. [Ex Classical Numismatic Group, Triton I, 1997, lot 1702].

Constans (337-350), Solidus, Nicomedia, AD 337-340; AV (g 4,45; mm 21; h 12); D N CONSTA - NS P F AVG, diademed, draped and cuirassed bust r., Rv. VICTORIA CONSTANTIS AVG, Victory seated right on cuirass and shield, inscribing VOT V on shield set on knee, supported by winged Genius standing l; in ex. SMNT. RIC 2; C -; Depeyrot -.
An extremely rare variety, with only three specimens recorded; artfully engraved, well struck, good extremely fine. [From an old collection, bought from ancient auctions].

Constans (337-350), Solidus, Thessalonica, AD 337-340; AV (g 4,28; mm 22; h 6); FL IVL CON - STANS P F AVG, diademed, draped and cuirassed bust r., Rv. VICTORIA - DD NN AVGG, Victory walking l., holding palm branch and trophy on spear; in ex. TES. RIC 28.
Minor marks on obverse, otherwise good extremely fine.

Constantius II (337-361), Solidus, Nicomedia, AD 340-351; AV (g 4,61; mm 21; h 6); FL IVL CONSTAN - TIVS PERP AVG, diademed, draped and cuirassed bust r., Rv. GLORIA - REI - PVBLICAE, Roma, holding scepter, and Constantinopolis, resting foot on prow, seated facing, holding between them wreath inscribed VOT / XX / MVLT / XXX; in ex. SMNT. RIC 32; C 108.
Rare. An invisible graffito on obverse and a minor dot on edge, anyway extremely fine.

Constantius II (337-361), Solidus, Antiochia, AD 347-340; AV (g 4,50; mm 22; h 5); FL IVL CONSTAN - TIVS PERP AVG, diademed, draped and cuirassed bust r., Rv. VICTORIA AVGVSTORVM, Victory seated r. on cuirass, with Cupid holding shield inscribed VOT / XV / MVLT / XX; in ex. SMANZ. RIC 23.
Rare, good very fine - about extremely fine.

GLORIA - REI - PVBLICAE, Roma, holding scepter, and Constantinopolis, resting foot on prow, seated facing, holding between them wreath inscribed VOT / XXX / MVLT / XXXX; in ex. *TESSU*. An almost invisible mark on cheek, otherwise virtually as struck and about fdc. [Ex Numismatica Ars Classica 80, October 2014, lot 269]

Constantius II (337-361), Siliqua, Sirmium, AD 351-355; AR (g 3,93; mm 21; h 12); D N CONSTAN - TIVS P F AVG, diademed, draped and cuirassed bust r., Rv. VOTIS / XXX / MVLTIS / XXXX, in laurel wreath; below, SIRM. RIC 15; C 342.
Lightly toned, large flan, extremely fine - good extremely fine.

Gratian (367-383), Siliqua, Treveri, AD 367-375; AR (g 2,05; mm 17; h 12); D N GRATIA - NVS P F AVG, diademed, draped and cuirassed bust r., Rv. VRBS - ROMA, Roma seated l. on throne, holding Victory on globe and spear; in ex. TRPS°. RIC 27; C 86.
Cabinet tone and good extremely fine.

Gratian (367-383), Solidus, Constantinopolis, AD 378-383; AV (g 4,51; mm 20; h 12); D N GRATIA - NVS P F AVG, diademed, draped and cuirassed bust r., Rv. CONCOR - DIA AVGG A, Constantinopolis seated facing on throne ornated with lions’ heads, holding sceptre and globe; foot on prow. RIC 45a; C 5.
