Lotto 283 Rare Rome Bone Applique with Dionysus holding Thyrsus, 1st - 3rd century AD; height cm 8,5. Partially framed, probably piece of a furniture; it is visible the nude bust of the Dionysus, who holds the thyrsus. Over his head, an hand, probably of a baccant. The applique is characterized by a very fine incision, as visible from details of the God head and of the decorative elements of the rod. Provenance: English private collection, bought before 2000s.
