La coppa, dalla foggia ampia e liscia, è orlata da un bordo appena rialzato e poggia su un piede ad anello basso e svasato.
Sul retro, la coppa presenta delle decorazioni a lustro con spirali fogliate e la marca “M°G°” della bottega di Mastro Giorgio Andreoli, associata alla data 1526.
Sul fronte in primo piano, su una ripida scalinata sale Marta che accompagna la giovane Maria Maddalena introducendola al Cristo. Questi, benedicente, siede su un trono dai braccioli di forma leonina, collocato tra due colonne. Molti spettatori assistono alla scena mostrando perplessità: i quattro apostoli attorno al Cristo, e – in basso - due gruppi di figure ne discutono animatamente. A sinistra, una quinta è formata da una libera composizione di elementi architettonici, con archi spezzati, portali e finestre. Lo sfondo presenta un complesso gioco paesaggistico: a sinistra un’altura con strade, porte urbane ed edifici disordinatamente collocati a diverse altezze, sormontata da una figura di erma.
